originally released in 1996, the 6-track remnants ep was only the second record produced by morgan geist for his own environ label. now beautifully remastered, this heretofore hard-to-find ep is crammed with geists early influences: from intricately-programmed roland orchestras that echo his early techno releases on metamorphic to jazz- and r&b- listening tracks that would later inform the sound of his debut album.

at the forefront of the irish electronic music scene, sligo-born berlin-based duo brame & hamo, aka tiarnan mcmorrow and conor hamilton, announce their hotly anticipated fourth ep, celebrity impersonator. via their own imprint, brame & hamo. the title reflects the duos personality and playful energy, nodding to their love of celebrity impersonators whilst growing up. we have a bit of a soft spot for impersonators as it is a pretty ridiculous way to earn a living. a bit like djing! our favs were those of tom cruise, bill gates, gordon ramsay and johnny depp. opening with ‘midnight express, the rolling melodics nod to the early sounds of prog house and italo, acting as a transitional opener to their signature trance via techno scores. on the b-side, title track ‘celebrity impersonator, is a moody four four that edges into the darker realms with their love of breakbeat shimmering through, resulting in a club ready anthem. melting down into a rolling trance groove with a late night heady feel, ‘request rhythm closes the ep. with an impressive discography of eps behind them on their own imprint - trants, club orange and the dj favourite, limewire, as well as bookings worldwide the irish pair are set to propel onwards from sligo to berlin and beyond.

frigio consistently plumb the depths of electronics to find new material, and this time the madrid imprint has unearthed, in the murky currents, a real gem. tecwaa is the solo project of york based producer paul fawcett, a musician who discovered his sound in the british warehouse parties of the early nineties and went on to nurture it with movie scores, detroit techno and homegrown electronica. his debut brings together three pieces of original machine music alongside a very special remix. the menacing -the eighth circuit- broods into being. looming synthwork is further darkened by distant vocals, house percussion keeping time in this sinister opener. -mantra & machine- has similar attributes. adopting clean rhythms, the track refuses to sit comfortably in any genre pigeonhole as tecwaa weaves a work of cerebral depth. charles manier introduces the flip with his take on -fervour-, tadd mullinix returning to frigio for the first time since his superb remix as jtc of juanpablo s -dream- in 2010. a funk laden work of hip hop breaks and industrial distortion where manier explores blackened moods and horrorshow grooves. the original of -fervour- closes, showing another side of fawcett s style, bpms drop as foundations are laid bare in this stark conclusion.

redimension is the label project of joseph capriati and is run as a platform to champion music that showcases the more underground side of his taste in techno. along with tracks from the label boss himself, its also featured contributions from adam beyer, anthony parasole, flavio folco and rino cerrone. now on its sixth release, the labels latest ep is from klaudia gawlas, a leading lady in the world of techno who plays dj gigs all over europe and other parts of the world.

omar akhrif, donald and br&#363,n are an italian trio who gave life to the big morning records project, which follows the homonymous after party. solenoid 29 is the alias they wanted to use for this first ep, which contains 3 tracks that merge a nervous but elegant mix of techno, house and electro sounds. plus a track remixed in a dreamy way by the infamous spatial artist etienne.

we are very happy to announce the 13th release of cabrera with two special remixes from the label boss, j.c., “vertigo” record that came out in the summer of 2017. side a comes with a special shed rework. rene is a huge influence for us and we are thrilled to have him on our catalogue. keeping the essence of the original, he made a proper raw dub techno banger. on the flip side, kastil, already part of the family, took “nyame” in a whole other level and made a fresh blend of fierce techno.

finally after years of quality techno and music,pushmaster discs is proud to present the 20th release of the label with the label boss mattia trani and his solo ep.
this time mattia chosed a banging tune “time struggle” with the first new school version, classic heavy techno beat with saturated 303 sub melodies and a futuristic pad to complete this version. the old school version is more percussive acidic, no pad melodies, no compromises, just straight to the point for killing every dance floor.
in the b side there’s a perfect rework from a dutch techno master steve rachmad as sterac, more 909 clean beat rhythmic and minimal detroit infected. the last track “floating life” is a typical drum’n’bass spirit influence of mattia, 170 percussive beat with space pads typical of 90 jungle works in the uk.

almost one year in the making, bulgaria s outstanding techno talent lands his return to drumcode with a four-track ep. timmo (aka valeri ivanov) doesn t do things in half measures. since the release of his excellent system ep last year and muzik , his inclusion on a-sides vol.6, he s committed himself to crafting, refining and polishing a quartet of cuts inspired by the cosmic realms beyond planet earth. titled meteorite, its release marks 10 years since he first began producing and stakes its claim as a resounding career highlight with tracks already highlighting gigs for adam beyer at tobacco dock, awakenings, future kappa festival and junction 2. beginning with the title track, the streamlined work throbs with a searing synthetic pulse. black moon sees the ep land its first blow, kicking with a mixture of undulating synths and understated hoovers. spacetime stays true to its name delivering intergalactic techno vibes. cosmos concludes the work, taking us into extra-terrestrial dancefloor territory, with a barrage of trippy synth work and a melodic underbelly the makes the track both beautiful and heavy-hitting in equal measure.

following previous appearances on station shiva and discos pandemicos, estrato aurora makes his first appearance on bliq with some advanced deep techno immersions that match the profile of the label perfectly. ursus dolinensis takes a slow ride into submission, placing all the emphasis on the low end and using subtle background frequencies to shape out the atmosphere. lunanosorex takes a particularly tripped out approach to electro, while glyphodon adds a little industrial bite into the machine funk framework without losing that steely atmosphere that makes the whole ep so appealing. leonids remix of ursus dolnensis is the perfect complementary addition to the ep the dolly and sistrum artist adds his own rugged deep techno machinations to the track to deadly, understated effect.

the olympos series paused briefly, but now makes a welcome return thanks to the efforts of hermes, the messenger of the gods. whether he produced the tracks himself or they were ghostwritten is unclear, but they re a fantastic addition to the greek mythology focused minimal electronica label. astraia is a twinkling delight of mournful deep techno, while eidolon heads into introspective minimal electro territory with some seriously crafty beat programming. stasis meanwhile strikes a warm, laid back note that harks back to early uk techno might the track title be a tribute? the record closes out on phone, a grainy, sullen jam with some crunchy broken beats and plenty of needlepoint sound design going on.

this is a reissue of a short-lived and obscure uk dance music label. a compilation of tracks featured on releases across 3 ep’s between 1991 and 1993 incorporating recently emergent dub techno and progressive acid house sounds. nation of noise was conceived in the early 90 s, following a meeting of minds between the producer and ambient soho mainstay django, and vocalist jon martin (of pizzaman fame) at the legendary soho institution: the brain. plate 1 is a fully remastered reissue of the first nation of noise record - xes noiz, featuring 4 locked grooves. plate 2 takes two tracks off both the lockgroove and super bubble ep s. one side is smooth, after-hours deep house whilst the other reaches for two progressive, acid cuts. fully remastered.

new years deal - dresden s lockertmatik starts his engines for the first time on shtum and delivers a string of tracks that seem to come from a not so far away dystopian future. here are four tracks that are unpretentious but elaborate, effective but not overambitious. -break the chains- sets the bars in terms of dark techno bliss for both basements and bigger dancefloors. on -message from the underdog- lockertmatik shows off his knack for acidic perfection while -jaku- gets the jazz treatment. finally, -313 - 0351- is all about building tension without losing one bit of impact on the dancefloor. the artwork comes courtesy of carl-johannes schulze.

berlin based techno titan frank muller adopts his beroshima alias for a new four track ep that is already been hailed by the likes of marcel dettman and laurent garnier. first emerging in the nineties, muller has since become a techno great who has played from asia to south america and beyond. he’s had plenty of underground hits on the likes of cocoon and soma, and held some key residencies over the years. always one to command your attention with his multi layered grooves, this ep features an old juan atkins sample “buy some shit from detroit” that has been part of beroshima’s live sets for years. excellent opener ‘encounter’ reflects a recent idea jeff mills and muller had to produce tracks together for a not yet produced sci-fi movie. it is an eight-minute astral techno trip with smooth, driving drums and plenty of intergalactic synth lines. ‘the passion of lovers’ transfers the organic beroshima style into 2018 and shows off frank’s passion for spaced out electronica. it’s a brilliantly bumping cut with lithe synths and melodies adding that soul and colour as it races through the galaxies. the iconic ‘buy some’ with the atkins sample then surges into the future with icy hi hats dancing over rubbery drums. the warped synths take the lead and bring a real sense of off kilter energy to this most timeless bit of techno. last of all is the fantastic space mix of ‘encounter’ which is dreamy and cinematic with exquisite keys and pads colouring in a huge night sky as the drums drive things along. this is an archetypal techno ep filled with cosmic colours and serene emotions.

neil landstrumm began producing in the early 90s after moving to edinburgh from inverness. initially producing within a variety of groups often with christian vogel, he began his solo production in 1993 influenced by the sheffield school of bleep as well as electro and miami bass. landstrumm s unique sound soon caught the ears of a wide variety of some of the worlds finest electronic labels and he went onto record for tresor and planet mu as well as his string of ep s and album for peacefrog. his playful sense of humor and penchant toward unpredictable song structures and bizarre sounds have continued to offer humour in a world often dominated by serious minimalism. threesome features landstrumm s three peacefrog ep s originally released between early 1995 and 1996. highlights include the minimalist chicago jack track takks, dancefloor destroyers such as swing / jerk and blam the target, along with the off kilter raw stomping funk of sniff and destroy. to this day landstrumm remains one of the true innovators in uk techno.

up next on phonicas main label we present harrison bdps life unlimited 12inch. over the past few years harry has burst onto the scene with a prolific run of releases for labels such as lost palms, piff and music is love, displaying a wide-ranging sonic palette whether it falls under classification as house, techno, electro, garage... or whatever else he turns his hand to! the 12inches lead track life unlimited starts off as a euphoric italo-flavoured piano-house banger before breaking down into a bleep-tastic middle and back again. it hits all the right spots and will no doubt tick all the boxes for djs looking for a sure-fire peak-time jam! on the b-side the music takes a deeper turn with the immaculately produced dub-techno of fish in the tank which is then followed by the stunning uk garage inspired its all good - this one gets seriously under your skin! its rare for a producer to nail such a variety of different styles on a single record, yet we feel this 12inch truly underlines harry’s versatility yet still displaying his signature sound. three very different tracks, all recognisably harrison bdp.

„spectral decay” is a collection of musical reflections about the paradoxical contemporary state of humankind, whereas its own technological, social, cultural and economical development seems to entrench the possible points of a structura downfall. the narrative of „spectral decay” starts with heavy, mesmerizing industrial vibes. due to the notable sound design techniques of japanese artist tetsumasa, his hefty piece „nex” evolves into a harsh but still amazingly cinematical music sculpture. subsequent mid-tempo composition „onzour shayatini” by meer dynamically follows the dark, experimental path of drone and noisy structures. violent accents smoothly lead to the deconstruction of drum & bass patterns and turn into strident 90s metal riffs. the track progressively penetrates obscure subterranean abysses and becomes a perfect introduction to the next theme by yuji kondo – „hades”. in greek mythology hades was the ancient god of the underground kingdoms, darkness, death and metals. therefore, kondo’s music piece turns into an infernal portrayal of the underworld where tenebrous layers of bass frequencies, raw textures and drexciyan sounds build up an enormous and lasting tension. side b begins with the track „anthropocene” produced by arboretum co-founder – mogano. the whole composition refers to the present geological epoch we live in, characterized by environmental pollutions, depletion of fossil fuels and accelerated urbaniza- tion of the world. it is a deeply conceptual soundscape of a powerful system, that incorporates both – the destructive forces of technology and the infinite energy of the whole universe, that interweave in a devilish dance of post-techno, breakbeat and dub tones. thereafter, ~raw in his piece „poly bios” pictures the interference of human structures in the nature. creating a mosaic from indus- trial and tribal, organic sounds, he tells a mystical story of fear, hope, escape and primeval instincts. the narration concludes with an atmospheric composition of nwrmntc – solo project of ana quiroga from experimental ambient duet lcc. „beyond” is a boundless, spectral reflection on collective human consciousness, where haunting vocals evoke a recon- dite, ineffable pain, leaving the listeners in a profoundly meditative state. laura polan&#769,ska
